Regular Show Creator Coming Out With New Adult Oriented Show

J. G. Quintel’s New Adult Oriented Animated Series Doesn’t Look Quite As Kid Friendly As Regular Show

TBS launched the trailer for J. G. Quintel’s new adult oriented animated series “Close Enough”. If you were expecting a kid friendly series like Regular Show, you weren’t even close.

TBS ordered 13 episodes for the upcoming series. This will be the first time Cartoon Network Studios and Studio T will be collaborating. From the following trailer you’ll probably notice the show looks like it would be more at home on Adult Swim.

While Regular Show was about a young Bluejay and Racoon doing regular stuff, Close Enough is described as a surreal take on transitioning from twenty something to thirty something. So instead of drinking sodas and jamming to Fist Pump, the new show will be more about smoking joints, tripping balls, and humping in the back seat.

Catching the new trailer this morning was music to my eye holes. My wife and I are huge fans of the Regular Show, and super excited about Close Enough now. The animation looks pretty much to same, and it sounds like many of the voice actors transitioned with the new project.

The show revolves around a married couple juggling such everyday challenges as parenthood, friendship, ham theft, stripper clowns and choosing the right day care. In May 2017, TBS announced the show entitled Close Enough will be set to debut in late 2017 or early 2018.

Regular Show debuted in 2010. If you we’re around Mordecai and Rigby’s age when it premiered, you should be right around the age of the new cast.

After the semi-innocent nature of Regular Show you may find some of the themes in the Close Enough trailer a bit shocking. Well you may find it a fun fact that creator J. G. Quintel got his start with the following animated short about getting high.
